Camillus, NY The Town of Camillus is home to many museums, historical sites, and excellent recreational facilities. Camillus is within close proximity to the the City of Syracuse and the crossroads of upstate New York, providing easy access to all Central New York locations, as well as the Thousand Islands, the Adirondacks, and Finger Lakes regions of the state via major highways passing through the area.
The Carpenters Brook Fish Hatchery Located on picturesque countryside just west of Camillus, the Carpenter's Brook Fish Hatchery is one of only four county run hatcheries in the state and has been in continuous operation since its inception in 1938 and produces 70,000+ Trout annually.
Erie Canal Park / Sims Store Museum The park has been under development since 1972. It is part of the Town of Camillus Parks system, which provides funding for development materials and equipment. Within the park, every structure that is needed to operate a canal is represented: the remains of the original Erie Canal, the first enlargement, a replica of Sim's Store, a replica of a lock shanty, a canal feeder, Culvert 59, the Nine Mile Creed Aqueduct, and Gere Lock.
