The image on the YourCNY.com Home page this week is of an unused "linen" penny postcard of the New York State Fair from 1939 (A "Colourpicture" Publication, Cambridge, Mass., no. 10895; From the collection of Michelle Stone).

Caption on the front of the card reads: "Entrance Gate to the State Fair" and caption on the back reads: "The Agricultural and Industrial Exposition, showcase of the EmpireState, attracts nearly 500,000 people from Central and Upstate New York annually. New YorkState Fair, Syracuse, Aug. 26-Sept. 9, 1939."
