The 2009 Finger Lakes Wine Festival is this weekend. The event kicks off with a "Toga Party" on Friday night and is followed by two days of wine sampling and sales by over 85 wineries.
Held at Watkins Glen International race track, the wine weekend features products ranging from food to jewelry to pottery. New this year is a Vintner's Riesling Room where tasters may learn all about Riesling. There's also a series of seminars including Wine & Chocolate, Wine & Cheese, Riesling, Ask the Winemaker, and presentations by regional wine trails.
Finger Lakes Wine Festival draws thousands of people from around the country and helps spread the word about New York wine.
Festival Hours: - Friday, July 17, 2009 6:00PM - 9:30PM (Turn 10 Coliseum Village)
- Saturday, July 18, 2009 10:00AM - 5:00PM (Main Festival Grounds)
- Sunday, July 19, 2009 10:00AM- 5:00PM (Main Festival Grounds)
Where: Held rain or shine on the grounds of Watkins Glen International, in Watkins Glen, New York Tickets: On-site ticket sales begin at 9:00AM Saturday and Sunday.
